Dear Sir/Madam, We write further to site activities recorded on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, to formally advise the Client Representative of a weather-related delay event and associated schedule impact affecting the Huntly Road Upgrade project. On the date referenced above, high winds exceeded the safe operating limits for the crane engaged for the planned culvert lift and installation works. As a result, the Contractor was unable to proceed with the scheduled lift, and these works have been rescheduled to the following day. This delay was outside the Contractor's control and directly attributable to prevailing weather conditions. In addition, the Contractor advises that overall program progress is tracking approximately one day behind schedule for the week to date. This slippage is attributed to a combination of the weather-related postponement of the crane lift and a late start by the line marking crew, who arrived on site in the afternoon and were unable to commence works following completion of site induction requirements. The Contractor is implementing a recovery plan, including the reallocation of two graders from Section Q to Section 5, to mitigate the current slippage over the remainder of the week. Progress against this recovery plan will continue to be monitored and reported accordingly. Notwithstanding the above recovery measures, the Contractor hereby puts the Principal on notice of a potential Extension of Time claim arising from the weather-related delay to the crane and culvert installation works described above. The Contractor reserves all rights to submit a detailed Extension of Time claim, together with supporting documentation, including weather records, should the delay persist or compound in the coming days. The Contractor will continue to monitor cumulative weather delay days and program impacts and will provide further updates as the recovery plan progresses. Lots of wind today didn't really stop progress too badly. Think I'm about a day behind what was planned for the week so far. It's only Wednesday today hoping to catch up Thursday and Friday moving to graders to section 5 tomorrow.
